Brand Comparison FAQ

Does brand really matter for HVAC?

Yes and no. The brand matters less than proper installation and sizing. A correctly installed mid-tier brand will outperform a premium brand installed poorly. That said, top brands like Lennox genuinely offer higher efficiency ceilings, quieter motors, and better long-term reliability - which translates to real savings over 15–20 years of operation.

Why does EcoFrost recommend Lennox?

We're an authorized Lennox dealer - but that's because we chose them, not the other way around. Lennox consistently offers the highest SEER2 ratings, the quietest operation, and the most advanced smart controls in the industry. Their efficiency numbers translate to lower monthly bills. We stand behind every Lennox unit we install.

Is Goodman worth it?

For budget-focused buyers, yes. Goodman is owned by Daikin - one of the world's largest HVAC manufacturers - so parts support is strong. You won't get the efficiency peaks of Lennox, but for a basic, reliable furnace or AC, Goodman delivers solid value.

What's covered under a manufacturer warranty?

Most major brands offer a 10-year parts warranty when the system is registered within 60–90 days of installation. This covers compressors, heat exchangers, and major components - but NOT labour. EcoFrost provides our own labour warranty on top of the manufacturer's parts warranty.

Can I mix brands? (e.g., Lennox furnace + different AC)

Technically yes, but we don't recommend it. Matched systems from the same manufacturer are engineered to work together - they communicate better, run more efficiently, and the warranty is cleaner. We always quote matched systems.

Does EcoFrost install Keeprite furnaces and AC units in Mississauga?

Yes. EcoFrost installs and services Keeprite systems across Mississauga, Toronto, and the GTA. Keeprite is a Canadian-made brand with a proven track record in Ontario winters. If you are comparing Keeprite against other brands for your home, we can walk you through the differences and help you choose based on your budget and efficiency goals.
