Running but not cooling
Most often a fouled condenser coil, a failed capacitor or genuine low charge. We measure superheat and subcooling rather than topping up refrigerant and hoping, because adding charge to a system that is not low makes performance worse.
No power, nothing happens
Capacitor, contactor, breaker or the low-voltage side. These are the cheapest repairs on the list and the fastest to confirm.
Ice on the indoor coil
Airflow starvation or low refrigerant. The distinction matters, because thawing it and recharging a system with a dirty filter or a blocked return just repeats the fault next week.
Outdoor unit cycling on and off
High head pressure tripping the safety switch, commonly from a blocked coil or restricted discharge air rather than a failing compressor.
Water pooling around the indoor unit
Blocked condensate drain, a cracked pan, or a coil that froze and is now melting off. Different causes, different repairs.
Cold air but the house stays warm
Usually a duct or return-air limitation rather than the air conditioner. We measure static pressure so you are not sold equipment that cannot fix a distribution problem.
Loud noise or vibration
Fan blade, loose panels, worn bearings, or a compressor on its way out. We identify which before quoting, since the range between them is large.
Refrigerant leak
We find and repair the leak rather than recharging repeatedly. R-410A is being phased down, so topping up a leaking system gets more expensive every year.

How much does AC repair cost in the GTA?
Most repairs land between $150 and $600. A capacitor is at the low end, a contactor slightly above, refrigerant work and coil repairs at the top. The diagnostic is a flat $129 at any hour and it is waived if you proceed with the repair, so you are not paying twice to find out what is wrong.
Can you come the same day?
Usually yes. Typical emergency response across our core service area is 2 to 4 hours, and we run 24/7 including weekends and holidays. There is no overtime surcharge, so a Sunday night call costs the same as a Tuesday afternoon.
My AC is low on refrigerant. Can you just top it up?
We can, but on its own that is not a repair. Refrigerant is a sealed system: if it is low, it leaked, and a system that leaked once will leak again. We find and fix the leak, then recharge to the correct weight. Repeated top-ups get expensive quickly now that R-410A is being phased down.
Do you repair all brands?
Yes. Lennox, Carrier, Goodman, Trane, York, Bryant, Rheem, Daikin, Mitsubishi and Napoleon among others. We are an authorized Lennox dealer, which means genuine parts and warranty access, and we service every other major brand.
Is it worth repairing an older air conditioner?
Our rule of thumb is that under twelve years old with a repair below half of replacement cost, repair wins. Above that, get replacement priced alongside it. If your system still runs R-22, the economics have already shifted and we will tell you so plainly.
What is included in the diagnostic?
A full system check rather than a look at the obvious part: electrical components, refrigerant pressures with superheat and subcooling, airflow and static pressure, coil condition and the condensate path. You get the findings and a flat-rate quote before any work starts.
Do you charge more for nights, weekends or holidays?
No. The $129 diagnostic and the flat-rate repair quote are the same at 2 AM on a Sunday as on a weekday afternoon. During heat advisories we prioritise homes with infants, seniors or medical equipment, and we carry portable cooling for the calls that cannot be finished the same day.
