Does the location of the water heater actually matter?

Should I add a recirculation loop while the unit is being installed?
If you have long runs to the primary ensuite, this is the moment to do it. Installing a loop is far easier while the connections are already open than as a separate job later. Specify demand or occupancy control rather than a permanent timer, so the pump runs when someone actually calls for hot water instead of reheating pipe water around the clock.
Is one tank enough for a house with four bathrooms?
It depends on simultaneous use rather than bathroom count. Four bathrooms used at different times are fine on one properly sized tank. Two showers plus a soaker tub at once is a different question, and the answer is either a larger tank, two units, or tankless. We ask about your actual morning pattern rather than counting fixtures.
Will access be a problem for a large unit?
We check the route before ordering. Getting a tall tank down a finished stairwell with a turn in it is a genuine constraint in some Markham homes, and a short-and-wide unit or a wall-hung tankless can be the practical answer. Better to establish that at the estimate than on install day.
How long does installation take?
Two to three hours for a tank. Three to five for a tankless. Adding a recirculation loop extends it, and we quote that separately so you can see what it costs.
